Paul Di’Anno will forever be identified as a crucial key in the development and success of Iron Maiden. Undoubtedly, one of the biggest bands in the world, with a legacy that has lasted 50 years.
The news of his passing is sad as Paul has struggled with health issues for the last 10 to 15 years.
His work on the first two Iron Maiden albums is the stuff of legend. Both those records rank as some of the best in the Heavy Metal genre and had a massive influence on what followed.
Paul brought a Punk Rock zest to Iron Maiden, ensuring no one sounded quite like them in their early days.
Both records are masterpieces, and Killers, in particular, remains my favourite Iron Maiden record. The song “Murders In The Rue Morgue” has inspired many aspects of my online store and the records we have produced over the years.
We pay our respects today by playing both the debut and Killers album nice and loud in Paul’s honour!
RIP Paul, your music will live forever!
