Marilyn Manson: One Assassination Under God Chapter 1 (Red Vinyl)

Marilyn Manson’s latest album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, released on November 22, 2024, marks a compelling return for the artist after a four-year hiatus. This twelfth studio effort delves deep into themes of betrayal, faith, and societal decay, all while delivering the provocative artistry that Manson is renowned for.

The album opens with its title track, “One Assassination Under God,” setting a foreboding tone that permeates the record. Following this, “No Funeral Without Applause” offers a haunting melody paired with introspective lyrics, showcasing Manson’s ability to blend dark themes with musical allure.

A standout track, “As Sick as the Secrets Within,” was released as the lead single and has been lauded for its brooding intensity and lyrical depth. The song achieved significant chart success, debuting at number one on Billboard’s Hard Rock Digital Song Sales. 

Once again, the album, which collaborates with producer and guitarist Tyler Bates, benefits from a cohesive and polished sound. The lineup is further bolstered by the return of drummer Gil Sharone and the addition of Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers, whose contributions add fresh energy to the project. 

In support of the album, Manson has announced a 2025 North American spring tour, with dates spanning from May 2 in Grand Rapids, MI, to May 25 in Dallas, TX. Prior to this, a European tour is scheduled for February 2025. 

One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 not only reaffirms Marilyn Manson’s place in the rock genre but also introduces a renewed vigor and artistic depth. It’s a testament to his enduring ability to challenge and captivate audiences.
