Dio music collectors, it’s time to add some key pieces of the legendary musician’s history. Niji Entertainment Group have partnered with BMG to reissue four classic records in 2020, with each set bolstered by rare and never-before-released live material and select bonus tracks.
Longtime Dio collaborator Wyn Davis was brought in to remaster the four albums — 1996’s Angry Machines, 2000’s Magica, 2002’s Killing the Dragon and 2004’s Master of the Moon. In addition, there will be newly updated artwork from frequent Dio designer Marc Sasso.
The collections will be available in vinyl and CD formats!
All bonus tracks will also be available on streaming and digital services as well.
Wendy Dio says, “I am very excited to be working with BMG, a label that still has a passion for rock music. They will be making the complete DIO catalogue available again with some interesting surprises.”
Beginning with 1996’s Angry Machines — including 2000’s Magica and 2002’s Killing the Dragon — and ending with 2004’s Master of the Moon, each release will feature remastered audio and a bonus disc of rare content. In addition to CD re-releases, each will be available for the first time as standalone vinyl releases with lenticular covers; the Magica vinyl will include a seven-inch of Electra, which the band’s late frontman, Ronnie James Dio, had planned for the sequel Magica 2.
